NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

SUBJECTS COVERED: Gun Safety Rules - Safe operation of semi-auto pistols and/or revolvers - Ammunition knowledge & selection -  Pistol selection Safe firearm & ammunition storage - Shooting fundamentals -  Pistol inspection & maintenance - Marksmanship - Range safety - And much more.

 Course length: Approximately 9 - 10 hours.

Class size limited.

Students will complete live fire training  with NRA Certified Instructors and NRA Certified Range Safety Officers.

Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting examination and upon successful completion of live fire training, will receive a course completion certificate.

Classroom and Range locations vary: 

You are welcome to bring your own firearm.
ALL FIREARMS MUST BE CASED OR HOLSTERED & UNLOADED. ABSOLUTELY NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.

$175.       $40.00 Non-Refundable Deposit.Includes use of .22 cal. Handgun, ammunition, targets, hearing & eye protection.

• Refreshments will be provided.
• You are welcome to bring your own handgun and factory ammunition.
• All Firearms must be cased or holstered and unloaded.
• Absolutely no live ammunition is allowed in the classroom.
• Firearms must be in good condition and meet safety standards.

I'm a new shooter and concerned I may not be able to do this.

We are experienced at working with shooters of all abilities. Safety is our number 1 concern and we will work with you to allow you to stay within your comfort zone. Everyone starts by learning the basic rules of firearm safety.  
By starting with plastic training guns and working up to handling real firearms and dummy ammunition in the classroom prior to actually going to the range, you will learn the proper (safe) way to handle several different handguns. Live ammunition is never allowed in the classroom. 

On the range, we start all new shooters with a .22 caliber pistol which is a user friendly, low recoil, low noise handgun.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We must order Course materials and make rental commitments weeks prior to each class. We realize that other things do come up in life. With 24 hours notice either by calling 570-245-1975 or emailing DefensiveFirearmTrainingLLC@gmail.com, we will Credit your deposit one time to the same course on another date or in the event of full payment, refund your payment less the deposit amount. 

Of course, should we have to cancel, full refunds will be given.
